MAR Consult is one of the largest and most successful Russian research companies.

Our company conducts ad hoc marketing research activities. We have all modern research tools at our disposal and have the skills and experience to apply them with the maximum efficiency in order to solve the tasks given us by each client.

MAR Consult conducts research in both consumer and industrial markets. Besides large-scale projects aimed at the study of wide audience, we conduct research of hardly accessible respondents, narrow and niche markets. In order to get complete information about markets that we study we use full scope of modern research methods both quantitative and qualitative including unique techniques developed by our employees.

The regions of our operation include all of the Russian Federation and the CIS countries. MAR Consult also carries out large-scale international research projects in European, Asian and American countries.

  • 2002 - Foundation of the company

    • Dmitry Shimanov had applied his work experience obtained while employed in a marketing research company and education received in Plekhanov Academy and School of Economics in Dresden and founded MAR Consult to embody European marketing research quality standards in Russia.
    • Large international companies (Colgate-Palmolive) were among our customers since the first day of its foundation.
    • The main expert field of the company was the marketing research.
    • Number of employees – 4 people.
  • 2003 - Development of consumer research

    • Due to a great number of requests for consumer research a strategic decision was made to develop this field of operation.
  • 2004 - Structural growth

    • Because of the rapid increase in customer portfolio in B2B and B2C fields two specialized departments were formed: MAR Opinion (consumer research) and MAR Industry (marketing research).
  • 2005 - Recognition by European professional associations

    • High professionalism of MAR Consult’s activities was recognized by European research company association ESOMAR.
    • Successful execution of research studies for a number of German companies led to signing of strategic partnership agreement with German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK).
  • 2006 - Year of intense geographic expansion

    • The series of projects called Location Feasibility Study which were conducted for Retail-operators had led to expeditions of our research teams to more than 30 regions in the Russian Federation and the CIS.
    • Moderator network had extended. The number of involved field employees had exceeded 2500.
    • Development of the pharmaceutical market. Creation of extended customer portfolio of pharmaceutical companies (Sandoz, Bayer, Roche, NizhFarm).
  • 2007 - Orientation on creation of comfortable working conditions

    • MAR Consult had made several changes to create a better working environment for its employees and make visits by its’ customers as comfortable as possible.
    • The company had moved to a new A class office at “Vereyskaya Plaza” which was equipped with a large room for focus-groups and a comfortable room for observation of discussions by customers.
  • 2008 - Steady growth

    • Extension of the pharmaceutical companies’ customer portfolio. Realization of large-scale projects for Novartis, Eli Lilly.
    • Predominance of consumer research. Share of consumer studies had significantly prevailed over marketing research in a structure of company’s operations.
    • Total size of moderator network covering all Russian regions had exceeded 4,000 employees.
  • 2009 - Continuation of stable development

    • Despite the world financial crisis the company was steadily developing. MAR Consult had recruited new highly professional employees. The turnover of the company had grown.
    • Due to dynamic activity in the area of pharmaceutical marketing research the company had joined EPhMRA.
  • 2010 - Present time

    • Opening of CATI-center that is equipped with 40 CATI-stations. CATI-center is located at the headquarters of the MAR Consult research company. The absence of ''isolation'' of the call-centre allows the analysts and project managers to better overlook the work on the projects which ensures a 100% quality of data collected.
    • This year MAR Consult has completed the largest research project in the company's history to date. 28000 respondents were interviewed during the quantitative research that was carried out in 10 cities of the Russian Federation, and the field phase of this research was done in only 2 weeks.

The member of ESOMAR

ESOMAR (The European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research) was established in 1948 and at present has 5000 members in 100 countries. Society aspires to distribute high professional and technical research standards. For this purpose the marketing and sociological research Code of Conduct was developed and accepted in coordination with International Chamber of Commerce.

EPhMRA member

EphMRA (European Pharmaceutical Marketing Research Association) is aimed at development and improvement of marketing research standards and methods in Europe in the area of healthcare. Association’s goals also include strengthening of the role of its members by supporting their international activities and creation of the atmosphere of transparency for everyone’s benefit.

Strategic partner of Russian-German Chamber of Commerce (AHK Russland) in Russia.

AHK Russland is aimed at assisting in the development of foreign economic relations with the Russian Federation and representation of various German companies’ interests both in Moscow and in other regional centers.

Fundamental concept of association’s members is the slogan: “Impulse. Lobby. Service.”. Members of the chamber consider contact development between foreign partners, organization of conditions for relationship development, assistance from German Chamber of Commerce in the entrance on the Russian market, exchange of specialists between partnering states, increased number of specific vacancies and work proposals in German companies to be an economy development impulse for two countries. Lobby principle implies presentation of chamber members’ interests when contacting state authorities of two countries, development of business relations with economic associations and specific support of German companies in Moscow in their resolution of a wide range of problems. The service implies participation in promotion on the market, support of exhibition activities, rendering of assistance in the establishment of business and further support of business project under market economy conditions.
